From university duo to fast-growing consultancy
Bio-engineers and former classmates Bram De Keulenaere and Emile Lemey joined forces in 2021 to found Mantis. Their idea: to guide companies and organizations through the green transition with a practical action plan. Since then, Mantis has grown into a leading consultancy with experience in sectors such as chemicals, food, energy, construction, and manufacturing – from SMEs to multinationals.
Pioneers in the Blue Economy
Internally, we also make thoughtful choices: from circular furniture to renewable transport. Our greatest impact is achieved in the Blue Economy, where CO₂ reduction and nature restoration go hand in hand. A proud West Fleming who combines technical energy expertise with an infectious laugh. Simon solves complex problems with a clear vision and a no-nonsense approach. At home, a chicken farmer; at the office, a sustainability expert – always with an eye for practical solutions.
Scientist driven to make an impact. Lisa conducted three years of research in biomedical sciences and optimized energy processes in the pharmaceutical sector. Now she tackles VSME reports, carbon footprints, and EcoVadis questionnaires. In 2014, she competed at the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships in Paris.
Bio-engineer with a focus on climate and sustainability strategy. Lien calculates LCAs and translates Scope 3 emissions analyses into clear conclusions. She used to participate in climate marches; now she helps companies genuinely reduce their CO₂ emissions. She usually suggests walking meetings.
An open book, always seeking purpose – professionally too. After 10 years in finance, she now helps organizations at Mantis advance their sustainable business goals. He has found the sweet spot between scientific precision and what businesses need, thanks to a background in chemistry and economics. He sinks his teeth into problems until they're completely resolved. When he's not at the controls at Mantis, he's cooking.
Outside of work, this bio-engineer with a master's in water technology can be found trail running and bikepacking. His professional journey revolves around making a positive impact on water, the environment, and climate. He knows FLAG, SBTi, and Scope 1-2-3 like the back of his hand, so you don't have to struggle with them.
