PRIVACY POLICY

To provide good service, we work with personal data. This privacy statement explains how we handle that personal data. This statement applies to the processing of personal data by Mantis Consulting BV.

The personal data you provide to us is processed by Mantis Consulting BV, Smidsestraat 63/101, 9000 Gent. The private limited company Mantis Consulting is therefore responsible for processing your data.

We believe it is important to handle your personal data with care. We do this in accordance with European privacy legislation (the General Data Protection Regulation, abbreviated as GDPR) and relevant federal and Flemish legislation.

WHY DO WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

Your personal data can reach us in various ways. For example, we may request data directly from you via a form or specific documents. Another possibility is that we request your personal data from government agencies that possess it. We use your data for a clear and legitimate purpose:

  • to comply with a legal obligation;
  • when you have given your consent;
  • for the performance of an agreement with you.

HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

We only request necessary personal data and handle it with care. This means that our employees treat your data discreetly, verify its completeness and accuracy, and ensure its security. We do not retain your data longer than necessary for our tasks, taking into account archiving legislation.

DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA WITH THIRD PARTIES?

We do not share your data with other parties unless there is a legal basis for doing so. These other parties may only process your data within the agreed framework. In principle, your data is processed only within the European Economic Area (EEA). If, in exceptional cases, your personal data is processed outside the EEA, this will always be done in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR.

WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

According to privacy legislation, you have the following rights:

  • Right to information and access

You have the right to know whether we hold your data, what data this is, how it is used, and you can receive further clarification on this.

  • Right to rectification and completion

If your data is incorrect, you may ask us to correct and/or complete it.

  • Right to object

You may object to the use of your data. Unless the public interest outweighs your own, we will stop processing your data.

  • Right to erasure: You may request that your personal data be completely erased when:
  1. the personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected;
  2. you withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal data, when the processing is based on this consent;
  3. you object to the processing and there are no compelling legitimate grounds for the processing;
  4. your personal data is being processed unlawfully;
  5. your personal data must be erased to comply with a legal obligation incumbent upon us.

We will erase your personal data in the above-mentioned cases, unless we are legally obliged to process your data or if the processing must occur in the public interest.

  • Right to restriction of processing: You have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data when:
  1. you dispute the accuracy of that data;
  2. the processing is unlawful, but you do not want the data to be erased;
  3. we no longer need your data for the processing purposes, but you still require it for legal proceedings;
  4. you object to the processing of your data, pending the assessment of whether there are overriding legitimate grounds for processing that outweigh your interests.

When processing is restricted, your personal data (with the exception of its storage) will only be further processed with your consent, for the protection of the rights of others, in the context of legal proceedings, or for reasons of public interest.

  • Right to data portability

When we process your personal data automatically based on your consent or in the context of an agreement, you have the right to receive the personal data in a structured, commonly used, and digital format, so that you can transmit it to another data controller. You may also ask us to transmit this data on your behalf, where technically feasible.

  • Right not to be subject to automated decision-making

You have the right to object to decisions based solely on automated processing of your personal data that produce legal effects concerning you. This right does not apply when such processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you, is legally permitted, or is based on your consent. In these cases, you can ask us for human intervention in making that decision.

  • Right to withdraw consent

When processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw this consent at any time. In that case, we will stop processing your personal data. The processing of this data prior to the withdrawal of your consent remains valid.

SPECIFIC PROCESSING ACTIVITIES

Below, we explain some specific processing activities. You can exercise your rights as described above in relation to these processing activities.

Where possible, we do this in advance and in writing. In other cases, our photographer will speak to you. You can withdraw these individual consents at any time.
